Marilyn K. Phelan grew up in a home with her grandmother who was Deaf and used sign language.  She loved her grandmother very much and learned sign language herself and developed an early understanding of how important communication is and the effects that hearing has on one’s life.

Marilyn has a master’s degree in both audiology and speech pathology and obtained her clinical certification of competence (CCC – A/SLP), giving her an advanced knowledge of hearing and speech in difficult listening environments. She obtained her degrees from UAMS in Little Rock, AR and has been in practice for over thirty years.
